ABOUT THE CLASS:
Creating a Tarot Deck and Self-Publishing Your Work
The class will be centered around the process of self-publishing a Tarot deck, from researching your first illustrations to shipping the final product out to a customer base. While the class will be focused specifically on Eric’s experiences with Tarot, the information will be relevant for any large serial work or independently published art product.
We’ll go over the technical processes of research, illustration, image editing, printing, getting a copyright, marketing, and selling your work to a wide audience. We’ll also touch on some of the more abstract and emotional aspects involved in a large project, like dealing with impostor syndrome, and balancing your personal aesthetic with a desire to be “marketable.”
This class will take place on Monday, May 23rd from 6:00 PM CST to 7:30 PM CST.

ABOUT ERIC:
My name is Eric Maille, and I’m an independent illustrator working in the Oklahoma City Area. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2016 and have stayed in the area making artwork ever since. I’m a member of a local collective called “Art Group,” and my work has been shown in a handful of galleries, museums, and non-traditional venues in the state.
I work mostly traditionally, creating art by hand with ink and watercolor. In the fall of 2020, I self-published my first tarot deck, “The Ink Witch Tarot.” In the following year I also released an “expansion” set of cards for Ink Witch along with an extensive companion book for the deck, and my first Lenormand deck “The Paper Oracle.” I’m currently working full time as an independent artist. And most of my time these days is spent working on two new oracle decks; one of my own, and one that is a collaborative project.
